Google analytics & site verification
« on: February 27, 2011, 12:00:47 AM »
Hi , just wondering if I could get some opinions on whether or not to use Google Analytics and Site Verification.  I've heard mixed views on whether its good to give Google your info or not. What are most people here doing?
Thanks
Jo

Well, there is no single answer to your question. For example, I don't use Analytics, while some AWB users use Analytics with great success. So it depends just on you :)

Other than google analytics, is there any other way to keep track of which sites are performing well and which ones aren't?  Unless I'm missing something, it seems we can't use adsense channels so how is everyone keeping tabs on their top earners?  I don't want to get too caught up in the stats, but I would like to see which niches seem to perform better than others.

Hi Jo

You can use Google Analytics and site verification, but you don't need to. It saves time and work on setup if you don't use them.

You can use Adsense Channels, they work fine for both content and search. It is the easiest way to go. It will tell you how many views and how many clicks for each site which has had a view and/or a click that day, and has other reports as well. Not as much detail as Analytics, but not as much work to set up either.

Jo, AWB supports AdSense channels for content and search, you can setup them in Ads serving section. You can also track sites traffic using your hosting control panel. Almost all hosting providers offer tools like AWStats for complete tracking.
I'm looking forward to serve you!
