Lotosus Hosting Down

Lotosus has been down most of the day. I haven't been able to log in and add more domains and things. Does this happen often with that host or is this rare?

Complete Newbie Questions - Please Help!

I read the webmaster book and have purchased AMM5. I couldn't set up the program on my yahoo hosting with the mysql databse for some reason so I've bought a domain with one of the recommended hosting companies. If I want to start up and start generating traffic, which other software should I purchase?

I would like to do this big time if possible, but need some guidance from people that have been doing this for a while. I know that there's a 2 month period that's recommended before turning adsense on, but what if I wanted to start making money from the site before that period. Which software is best to start generating traffic as quickly as possible?
